
History
In Tibet man name this dog Do-Khyi( which means the enchained) like al dogs who represent the
Mastiff type of dog.
The Tibetan Mastiffs Do-Khyi's are large sheppard and gardian dogs who lives enchained
outdoors.
It is a powerfull builded dog, full of life, intelligent, not always easy to educate but extremely loyal
against his owners.
According the legend he is the ancester of all Mastiffs, and even some types of sheppard dogs.
The 13 Dalai Lama had two of those beautifull specimens and after his morning rituel his darlings
could count on en hugh romp.
However in the native country man shall notice many types and colours, the tibetan people prefer
the black'n tan colour.
If such an animal weary a collar from red woven yakwool, it means that this animal is totaly
reliable.
Howhever the first imports came to our countries end of the seventies, we notice that the breed at
the present can count on a large interest not only in our country but also in the rest of the world.
Brief description from the Lhasa Apso
General Appearance: strong, heavy, well constructed with good flounder formation. impressive, but an august friendly appearance.
Temperament: Remote and protective.
Head and skull: Solid head whereby the proportions of the same or and the skull, good stop. fairly broad snout well filled and squares of all sides looked at. Nose great and good strong pigment with wide return. lips well developed and slightly forming part.
Eyes: very expressief, colour dark brown in colour with many nuances. Leaf eyes and slightly oblique.
Ears: of mediocre size, V-forming part. high pressure of the head and downwards placed the head tangential, coated with a short soft fleece.
Teeth: pronounced schaargebit and substantial jaws.
Backs: solid, more good and right going.

Ffleece: fleece in he-dogs is more than in the also. Fine but firmly, sluik never like side, corrugated or curly . back, shoulder have a rich fleece. Outside of the feet contribute fringes.
Colours: intensive black, black-red, brown, various hues gold, several hues grey and grey with gold given.
Height: 66 cm height in the he-dogs 61 cm in the also are the ideal sizes.
